Hi everybody. Welcome to my podcast. Today is going to be day number two of your daily wellness tip. There will be a tip posted daily including today with a habit challenge that you can incorporate into your lifestyle so that by the end of the year, heck, maybe even by the end of the month,
you all have stacked up several simple habits so that you will be on your road to better health, feeling more energetic and vital. .
Have you ever felt bloated or even a little gassy after a meal?
And sometimes it's even after eating a healthy meal. Well, there's a simple trick that you can do that may help you improve your digestion so you don't feel this [00:01:00] way, and that tip is to chew your food. Now, you might be saying, what, I chew my food all the time, but most of us chew our food only about 5 to 10 times, and believe it or not, that's really not enough.
You see, chewing actually is the start of our digestion. Digestion starts in the mouth, not in the stomach. When you chew your food, you are breaking down your food mechanically into smaller substances. That way when it goes through the rest of the digestive tract, it doesn't have to work harder to keep breaking it down.
Chewing also stimulates saliva production, and in your saliva there are digestive enzymes that help start the digestive process of your carbohydrates and your fats. So by chewing, you're getting this process going and giving your digestion an amazing start. ,
Which is so important because you wanna have optimal digestion so that you can extract the nutrients that you [00:02:00] need for your body to run optimally.
Some research has shown that the more you chew your food, the more you suppress your hunger hormone, so it can even help suppress your appetite helping your weight.
So here's my daily habit challenge to you pick a meal today, or if you're a high achiever, you can pick three.
And in each of those meals or just the one meal. Pick a food , and sometimes it's easier to start with a vegetable or a protein and chew your food 25 to 30 times. And after you do this for a while, you will find that you are starting to feel less bloated, less gassy,
